AIB Emilia-Romagna promuove l’8ª edizione del Concorso per Giovani Illustratori, nell’ambito della Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026. Il concorso è rivolto ad artisti e artiste under 30 e invita a confrontarsi con il tema “Biblioteca labirinto”, omaggio a Umberto Eco a dieci anni dalla sua scomparsa.
IB Emilia-Romagna promotes the 8th edition of the Young Illustrators Competition, held within the framework of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026.
The competition is open to artists under 30 and invites participants to engage with the theme “Library as Labyrinth”, in tribute to Umberto Eco, ten years after his passing.
Chi può partecipare / Who can participate
Possono partecipare artisti e artiste italiani/e e stranieri/e di età non superiore ai 30 anni (alla data di pubblicazione del bando).
Per i minori è richiesta autorizzazione dei genitori o di chi ne fa le veci.
- È possibile presentare una sola opera
- L’opera deve essere inedita e non premiata o segnalata in altri concorsi

The competition is open to Italian and international artists aged under 30 (at the time of the call publication).
Participants under 18 must provide authorization from a parent or legal guardian.
Only one artwork may be submitted
- The artwork must be unpublished and must not have received awards or mentions in other competitions

Tema 2026: Biblioteca labirinto / Theme 2026: Library as Labyrinth
Nel decennale della scomparsa di Umberto Eco (1932–2016), il concorso propone una riflessione sulla biblioteca come spazio complesso e simbolico.Ispirandosi a Il nome della rosa, la biblioteca è immaginata come un labirinto vivo, luogo di conoscenza ma anche di smarrimento, prova e scoperta.
Uno spazio che può essere insieme accogliente e ostile, razionale e visionario, dove il sapere richiede esplorazione, rischio e profondità.
On the tenth anniversary of Umberto Eco’s passing (1932–2016), the competition invites a reflection on the library as a complex and symbolic space.
Inspired by The Name of the Rose, the library is imagined as a living labyrinth—a place of knowledge, but also of disorientation, trial, and discovery.
A space that can be both welcoming and hostile, rational and visionary, where knowledge requires exploration, risk, and depth.

La giuria selezionerà le opere da esporre durante la Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026 e in successive occasioni espositive.
- 1° premio: € 500 (lordi)
- 4 buoni libro offerti da librerie.coop alle opere finaliste

The jury will select the artworks to be exhibited during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026 and in future exhibitions.
- 1st prize: €500 (gross)
- 4 book vouchers offered by librerie.coop for the top four selected works
