The catalogue documents the travelling exhibition promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and dedicated to a selection of works from the MAXXI Collection.
[...] Presented at the Villa Audi – Mosaic Museum in Beirut, the National Bardo Museum in Tunis, and the Villa des Arts in Rabat, the exhibition features works by the thirteen Italian artists selected for the project: Salvatore Arancio, Maurizio Cattelan, Enzo Cucchi, Gino De Dominicis, Bruna Esposito, Flavio Favelli, Mimmo Jodice, Sabrina Mezzaqui, Liliana Moro, Luigi Ontani, Pietro Ruffo, Remo Salvadori, and Luca Trevisani. Installations, sculptures, and photographic prints redefine the spaces of the three museums, creating new perspectives for experiencing these works. The publication is centred on photographs by Agostino Osio, whose images document the exhibition displays and the productive dialogue between the exhibited works and the distinctive architectural settings of the three venues. In addition to an essay by the curator and introductory texts by the museum directors, the volume includes concise technical entries featuring captions and descriptions of the selected artists' works.
