Tra i lavori esposti, il recente edificio Tod’s a Tokyo nel quartiere di Omotesando; il Relaxation Park di Torrevieja; e due moduli della panchina Naguisa, acquistati dal Maxxi e realizzati appositamente per l’esterno. Non mancano, infine, i progetti degli esordi come per esempio la casa in alluminio a Fujisawashi, che risale al 1970. E.S.
With a major retrospective, Rome retraces the career of Japanese architect Toyo Ito, who was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Biennale three years earlier and, this year, received the prestigious Royal Gold Medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Among the works on display are the recently completed Tod’s Building in Tokyo’s Omotesandō district, the Relaxation Park in Torrevieja, and two modules of the Nagisa bench, acquired by MAXXI and specially produced for the museum’s outdoor spaces. The exhibition also includes early projects, such as the Aluminum House in Fujisawashi, dating from 1970.
